Make Money Fast Make Money Fast is a title of a 1988 e-mail chain letter, which became so infamous that the word is commonly used in describing all kinds of chain letters sent through the Internet or by e-mail spam, as well as in Usenet newsgroups. The term "MMF" is commonly shortened in anti-spammer parlance. A guy who was called Dave Rhodes wrote about 1988 the initial "Make Money Fast" letter. The message invited email users to transfer a dollar in cash to a list of persons included in the text and, once name and address have been eliminated at the top, to enter their names and addresses at the bottom of the list. The resulting money chains would be expected to pay thousands of dollars to participants, as copies of a chains are spreading and more and more individuals are sending one dollar, based on principle underlying pyramid schemes.
